The Souffle Story

Born and raised in Kent Souffle founder, Nick Evenden has always had a passion for great food and after training as a chef at Thanet College he moved to Switzerland serving an extensive 6 year apprenticeship where he regularly served royalty and heads of state.

Upon his return to the UK he worked at The Berkeley Hotel London, where he rose in the ranks alongside many renowned chefs also learning their trade.

In 1989 Nick gained his first head chefs role and went on to managed kitchen brigades at The Café Royal and The Carlton Towers, to name but a few, creating sumptuous menus that delighted many of their rich and famous clients.

Nick fulfilled a life long ambition in 1998 when he and his wife Karen brought together their combined creative talents and opened the doors to what soon became the highly acclaimed Souffle Restaurant in Bearsted, Kent where he created stylish refined menus using locally sourced produce and soon developed a reputation for being one of the finest dining experiences in the Garden of England.

In 2002 they extended the business with the launch of their high quality outside catering service called ‘Souffle to You’ setting new standards in catering and event management throughout Kent, and Nick remains the inspiration behind the business today, preparing stylish menus to fit almost every occasion and budget.

In 2017 they decided to focus all their efforts on the fast growing outside catering business which was re-named Souffle Catering and developed further their Event Planning division to complement the core catering business.

Nick and Karen have served thousands of people since the restaurant opened in 1998 and Souffle Catering still hold dear the values of Quality and Service that have been the foundation stones on which this very successful business has been built, so, you can be confident in the knowledge that Souffle Catering have the experience and expertise to make your next event unique and memorable.
